Singer-songwriter Nick La Riviere is an accomplished trombonist who has toured internationally with bands such as the Juno award winning Paperboys, Michael Kaeshammer, 54-40, and Adonis Puentes. He’s been a special guest with such bands as The Temptations, and Nikki Yanofsky.  As a freelancer, he’s one of Victoria’s busiest musicians.  He has house gigs at Bard & Banker on Thursdays, Darcy’s Pub on Sundays, and Pagliacci’s every 2nd Sunday (before Darcy’s). Aside from the house gigs, he’s booked with plenty of other shows in and outside of Victoria… there’s always a lot going on.  Just take a look at the show schedule here.

Nick’s own project, simply called The Nick La Riviere Band blows the room away with its powerful horns, talented soloists, and energetic tunes. The band performs originals as well as unique versions of tunes by everyone from Professor Longhair to Sly and the Family Stone. The 7 piece band features 3 horns, 3 singers, piano/synth, guitar, bass, drums, and some unusual instruments including conch shells and wine glasses. The memorable show is full of variety and fun. Nick also offers arranging, recording, and teaching services.  He also leads a community R&B band, a community big band, and a community jazz combo class with weekly rehearsals.
