Singer-songwriter Nick La Riviere is an accomplished trombonist who has toured internationally with bands such as the Juno award winning PaperboysMichael Kaeshammer54-40, The BC World Music Collective, and Adonis Puentes. He’s been a special guest with such bands as Steven Page (Barenaked Ladies), and even The Temptations.  As a freelancer, he’s one of Victoria’s busiest musicians.

Best Laid Plan’s original music is influenced by artists like Trombone Shorty, Galactic, The Preservation Hall Band, and Allen Toussaint to name a few.  Piano centric pop and funk grooves with New Orleans style horns and an energy injection of wild trombone solos.

This versatile band just loves to play music whatever the occasion. While they love to play their originals, they also have a great time playing covers for dancers in a rowdy bar. Whatever makes people happy, that’s what music should be all about. For our cover shows we’re often joined by Danielle Lebeau-Peterson on guitar and vocals.

Available for festivals, theatres, weddings, parties, corporate events, bar performances, and anywhere else people want to have a good time!

And although it’s not a pro quality video like the ones above, we loved how these clips showed the energy of the crowd at a show at Irish Times in Victoria.

“Your performance was a crowd favourite!
Thank you for bringing joy and cheer to our event!”
Stephanie Meine, Brink Events

I was in the Irish Times and saw your show. It was incredible and I thought it was the best live band performance in a small venue I have ever seen in my 55 years on planet earth. I went in at around 9 for a beer and thought that would be it. My wife and I didn’t leave until the end!!
