Get Ready! is the debut album under the Best Laid Plans band name.  The album features 9 tracks – 8 original, and one quirky cover (an instrumental jazz-funk take on Sail by AWOLNATION).  The originals have plenty of influence from New Orleans bands like Galactic and Preservation Hall. There’s also piano driven rock style tunes, singer-songwriter, and more. This is definitely an album to check out!

Alive and Loud

The Nick La Riviere Band is proud to release this live album, recorded in March, 2019 at Hermann’s Jazz Club in Victoria, BC.  Check it out on Apple Music, Spotify, and many other streaming players.  You’ll have to look up “The Nick La Riviere Band” and not just “Nick La Riviere” because that brings up my older solo albums.

Another Time Around

In a small cabin on an overnight ferry from Amsterdam to Newcastle, collaborating with Geoffrey Kelly of Spirit of the West, the single Woohoo from the album Another Time Around was written.  The album features all original music with a range of influences from Sam Cooke to Jamiroquai to Ben Folds to Paul Simon.  The album features a wide array of tempos, styles, and unexpected twists while driving forward with a cohesive unified sound.  This is the album for everyone who likes variety in a performance – or maybe those who listen to their iTunes library on shuffle.

‘Another Time Around’ features a big sound and includes guests such as Michael Kaeshammer and Alpha Yaya Diallo.  Tracks contain fun treats like a 22 piece choir, a multitude of trombones, and a string section. Juno nominated producer Joby Baker lends his talented ear to bring the mix to life.
